Established in 1970 the 2011 Guernsey World Aid Walk marks the 42nd year for this popular community event. The walk since it started has raised more than three quarters of a million pounds to help those in need all over the world.
Starting at 9am the 20km walk takes you around the island stopping at various check points for refreshments.
The beneficiaries this year are Christian Aid, Oxfam, Hope for a Child, ActionAid, Save the Children and The Tumaini Fund who are running projects world wide to help improve the lives of those in desperate need.
For the 12th year The Guernsey World Aid Walk will be sponsored by IPES.
